Here’s a great link on how to learn and teach the 10 commandments. Well, we moved into our new home in the beginning of October. We are very happy to have a place of our own now and look forward to settling in more. It needs some work but when we get our tax credit back we will do some painting and stuff. I was going to wait until we had some pics to post on here but I still haven’t gotten things looking well enough for pics yet. I will post some soon. We’ve been super busy since buying this place with settling in, illness and Ishka having to go out of town a couple of times for work. It’s a calming feeling living in a house. Living in an apartment like we did most of the time we were married is just not as nice. We have our own yard, we get to plant our first garden, I can hang our clothes out on a line, etc… It’s just so nice. I really appreciated this sermon. Click on the link below. I received a pack of them yesterday and have been using them on my 9 month old and over 2 and a half year old sons since then. Warning: Don’t stick the sticky stuff directly on PUL. I learned that the hard way. I probably should have realized it but for some reason it didn’t process until after I had done it. I did find that these will work OK with thirsties and bummi’s super brite covers if you don’t use the sticky stuff and just lay the biosoaker in the cover. I also discovered that you can partially uncover the front sticky area and stick it on the clothy side of the prefold pocket part on the thirsties and bummi’s super brite covers. Be sure not to stick any of the sticky stuff on the PUL though, like I said before. I think these soakers work well. I might be purchasing more. They seem a bit healthier for my kiddos and the only thing I think would improve these would be to get rid of the SAP stuff completely and maybe just add in a little extra wood pulp or whatever instead. SAP is icky! SAP means “super absorbent polymers.” It’s the gel stuff you find in most disposable diapers. You can tear the soaker once they are soiled and dump the inner stuff out into the toilet. I have done it a few times but I don’t like to do it because you have to take it out by hand, it doesn’t just fall into the toilet. It’s pretty gross. If you are really all about earth friendliness though and don’t mind getting your hands full of the inner stuff, go for it. Make sure to put the outer disposable shell part in the trash as that is not flushable. I would not recommend these soakers for overnight. I didn’t try it but I read elsewhere of people trying it and their baby’s waking up wet so I would rather not try it. They aren’t as absorbent since they have a much lower SAP amount then your average store bought diapers. I had an overall positive experience and would recommend these when cloth diapers aren’t an option. The biosoakers are more expensive than typical mainstream disposable diapers but are healthier for your kids. The biosoakers are close to the same price as the huggies organic/natural disposables. But, I do believe that huggies still has a LOT more SAP in their natural line than what you will find in the biosoakers. The biosoakers come in 2 sizes, size 2 fits in my medium diaper covers. I personally think they should make a size 3 since the biosoakers are almost the same as my size 3 disposable diapers and my oldest is in size 5. They still work, but a slightly larger size would be nice. We had the inspection done on the house we are trying to buy and they had around 14 things they had to fix to bring it up to FHA standards. They agreed to fix those things and want to close on the 30th. Looks pretty solid that we are getting this house and we have put our 30 day notice in for our apartment. I look forward to settling in there and am extremely excited! Praise God for providing us a home. The list goes on… We need to protect our rights and get our rights that we have lost back! We are in the process of buying a house finally. We are quite excited that we were able to find a place with our low loan amount. Here’s the specs on the place… The house was built in 1921. Bedrooms: 3 Bathrooms:1 Garages: 1 (the garage serves as a shed though and the place where the garage door would be located is sealed off.) Square Ft.: 1255 Lot size: .14 There’s about 1,000 square ft. on the main level and about 250 square ft. is the unfinished partial basement. The partial basement serves as the utility room. Most of the floors are hardwood except for the kitchen and bathroom which are vinyl. There is an alley for access to the garage and a parking space. The house is located in a small city about 15 miles away from where my hubby works. The house needs a couple repairs to bring it up to FHA standards which the sellers have agreed to take care of. So, we are hoping everything goes smoothly and will be getting an inspection on the 14th. The offer we gave them was more than a few thousand lower than they were asking and they weren’t intending to do the repairs but thankfully they went with our offer and have agreed to do the repairs. I will update on how everything turns out. We went on vacation to see my parents in MN. That was pretty good. My little nephew Gavin is so CUTE! We got to go to a little animal park thing and my hubby got “beat up” by a baby kangaroo. LOL I’m happy that we are now home and Colin is back home with us. It is amazing how much easier it is to take care of one kid instead of 2 though. You really notice it when you get these kinds of breaks. I’m still learning how to balance everything so what I need to get done, gets done. Ethan is crawling (awkwardly) everywhere now. He can get anything he wants rather quickly. I have to stay on my toes! LOL We were looking for houses but it looks like it just isn’t going to happen because we don’t really qualify for enough and don’t make enough money for any decent house in this area. My standards are not very high either, just can’t find anything. Oh well, I guess it wasn’t meant to be but it is a little depressing. I really would like to own our own house but it’s up to God what He wants for us and I guess maybe that isn’t it for now.
